Courtne’ Shed-Alexander, DPT

Dr. Courtne' Shed-Alexander founder/creator of C the Movement LLC. She  is a graduate from Prairie View A & M University, where she received a B.A in science, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.  She then danced professionally for 2 years. Following her professional career, she earned her Doctorate of of physical therapy from Langston University in 2014.   She has worked in a variety of settings: acute care, outpatient,  home health and skilled nursing facilities working for patients of all ages with different ailments. For example, post operative, cancer, MS, Parkinson's, general deconditioning and more. Courtne' has always had a passion for helping others. She enjoys working with people of all ages  but she has an extra special place in her heart for patients in the the geriatric population. Helping improve ones quality of life and the ability for patients to stay independent as long as possible is gratifying.

Her interest in  dance injury prevention stemmed from her personal experience as a pre and professional dancer.  She  danced competitively   for 13 years  and received multiple accolades, danced with Classic Dance Ensemble under direction from Danyale Williams, Dallas Black Dance Theatre II,  and also tap danced professionally with Rhythmic Souls.  From personal experience,  a dancer getting injured can ruin a career and livelihood. Dr. Courtne' has noticed younger dancers are getting injured more frequently  because of multiple outlets presenting mis information: i.e. social media. This is why she is so passionate about helping educate those wanting to learn how to prevent injuries.

Dr. Courtne' enjoys working as a physical therapist and spending time with her  husband and son.  She continues to be active in the dance world and  teaches tap to anyone who wants to learn from ages 5-adults
